Entrepreneurial Blog #10

This week's issue is dedicated to entrepreneurship and self-improvement in the light of several readings and videos on what is needed to succeed in business and life. All of the readings were helpful in term of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The readings include "The Challenge to Become" and "The Heart of Entrepreneurship" that emphasize the mindset and traits needed to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit. The videos "Think Big," "License to Pursue Dreams," "Acton Hero Kathy Huber," and "Your Emotional Fingerprint" further illustrate these concepts through the telling stories of real-life instances and points of view. The personal transformation in "The Challenge to Become" includes a personal transformation towards achieving one's maximum potential. To succeed means one does not just learn facts or skills but instead becomes the person able to effectively apply them. It is compatible with the entrepreneurial mindset of adaptability, resilience, and willingness to risk it all.

Entrepreneurship is not just about establishing a business, but it is also an evolution of one becoming a leader capable of navigating uncertainty and grabbing opportunities no matter what may come your way. "The Heart of Entrepreneurship" explains the core traits of what makes an entrepreneur an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs do not only solve problems; they take the problem and innovate, always striving for a better way of adding value. The combination of vision, drive, and resourcefulness that distinguishes them from regular managers is underlined in this reading. This highlights that entrepreneurship goes far beyond ownership of a business and extends to anyone who proactively recognizes and acts on an opportunity. The video "Think Big" invites one to see the world outside the box of what they think they know. Success-oriented entrepreneurs usually set out to aim for big goals beyond their current capabilities, pushing them to reach even further. The video further supports the idea that bigger thinking will yield opportunities and further achievements.
